TITLE: Level Designer
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Game Design and Development, or related field or foreign equivalency and 2 years of experience in the job or 2 years of experience as a Technical Designer, Level Artist, or in a related occupation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Any suitable combination of education, training, &/or experience is acceptable.
JOB DUTIES: Create 2D level layouts with supporting design documentation and present it to the wider team. Create 3D block outs with a focus on level flow, pacing, combat and optimization for enjoyable gameplay. Work closely with other departments such as Environment Art, Narrative and Technical Art to identify required content and integrate their work into the level. Implement and orchestrate gameplay using visual/Lua scripting, game mechanics and AI encounters with a focus on creating enjoyable, memorable and replayable elements. Playtest to evaluate and iterate the overall gameplay to improve all areas of the level as the project progresses. Manage and prioritize bugs. Prototyping gameplay mechanics.
Salary range: $87,360/year to $124,000/year
