TITLE: Surgery Assistant
REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s degree in Dental Assisting; or 2 years of undergraduate education in dental curriculum; or high school diploma (HSD) and 24 months experience as dental surgical assistant, dental assistant or in dental assisting; AND successfully completed a Florida Board-approved expanded duties training program for dental assistant (EFDA).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
JOB DUTIES: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice in search of a surgery assistant. Working under the direction and supervision of the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Duties include but are not limited to: Provide exceptional patient care. Prepare patient charts, record treatment plans, and update dental records. Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize surgical instruments, materials and equipment. Ensure a clean and organized environment. Take dental impressions. Take before and after photos and videos. Prepare patient for surgery. Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures. Monitor patient’s vital signs during procedures. Instruct patients on post-operative and general oral health care.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week.
SALARY: $43,000.00 per year.
