TITLE: Sr. Researcher & Learning Development Associate

REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in Educational Psychology, Research, and/or Program Evaluation related areas with course of study requiring quantitative and qualitative analysis. and 6 months of experience in Research and/or Program Evaluation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Authority as delegated by supervisor. Responsible for conducting research, evaluation and analysis, under general guidance of supervisor. May supervises temporary employee(s) (floater, student, etc.) as needed. Ability to take initiative and to work and meet deadlines independently is essential. Knowledge of principles, policies and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Knowledge of church structure/organization, including committee procedures, etc. Specialized and advanced ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions etc. and application to practical situations. Advanced ability to read, analyze, and interpret statistical data and documents. Knowledge and skill in appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in various circumstances. Advanced command of English language skills including proficiency in verbal and written communication. Ability to perform administrative functions; develop long- and short-term plans and programs to effectively evaluate work accomplishments; establish and maintain effective relationships with internal/external personnel. Must possess advanced ability present facts and recommendations in oral and written forms. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with own departmental personnel, others within the General Conference and outside personnel on a daily basis. Must remain calm under pressure and exhibit courtesy, diplomacy and kindness at all times, both in person and on the telephone. Exhibit ability to effectively handle confidential information/situations at all times and maintain high degree of loyalty and support for supervisor, department, GC and SDA church. Must be able to read, speak and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing. Some standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying of light items, etc. required. Periods of intensive computer work will occur. Inasmuch as incumbent is an exempt employee it is expected that individual will work the hours required to complete assignments (i.e. no less than 38 hours per week). Essential responsibilities are performed in sedentary and comfortable manner. Tasks are usually performed under normal office conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well lighted and ventilated. Laptop may be issued to facilitate completion of work assignments. Conditions may be difficult on itinerary with some irregularity in hours.

JOB DUTIES: Provides assistance in the design of survey instruments such as questionnaires. Performs data analysis and prepares tables, graphs, fact sheets, and written reports summarizing research results. Sends out questions to CFO Outlook Panel, analyzes data from global church leaders and publishes findings. Works with special programs for tasks such as statistical analysis. Prepares, manipulates, and manages extensive databases for investigating and visualizing organizational activities. Includes preparation and/or maintenance of database used to analyze impact of continuing education on performance, competencies, etc. Aids with the preparation of project-related reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses of data, using computer software. Creates predictive models and algorithms that assist in identifying patterns (behavioral, learning, etc.). Edits and submits protocols and other research documentation. Designs and creates aptitude assessments and learning development program for the professional development of treasury personnel at the General Conference and in the world field (i.e., international offices). Performs needs assessments or consults with supervisor and other treasury administrators as needed to determine the types of research and information required for professional development and process improvement. Tracks and research progress, and performs any necessary follow-up tasks to ensure research informed solutions in relation to identified problems. Analyzes workflow processes to determine cause of potential issues (lack of competencies, training, manpower, etc.) and makes recommendations as needed. Coordinates learning development plans/programs/formats in consultation with supervisor and as requested. Serves as the Administrator of learning management software application/system which is used to convey and track learning modules for training. Serves on board and committees as assigned. Must be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Must maintain a regular and reliable work schedule. Other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL DETAILS: Limited domestic/international travel 3% with a length of 4-5 days which covers the work week.
