TITLE: Cost Estimator
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
JOB DUTIES: Interpret technical drawings and appy value engineering methods to offer alternative, less expensive design solutions to enhance the expected cost/worth ratio of projects. Analyze client requests and assist with on-site walk-throughs and pre-building assessments for conceptual cost estimating to determine cost-effectiveness of plans. Survey on-site project conditions; review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications; communicate with design teams and clients during the bidding process. Negotiate all subcontracts. Perform detailed take-offs of all trades. Accurately level all sucontractors bids. Submit RFIs as necessary to ensure nothing is overlooked. Develop all scopes of work and client proposals in accordance with imposed deadlines. Review proposals for accuracy. Communicate with project managers on the plans and delivery schedules. Calculate, analyze, and adjust bids and estimates as necessary to assist in the preparation of bid documentation for multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.), procurement of bids, leveling of bids, and the development of detailed proposals and scope documents. May supervise and provide guidance to junior cost estimators.
SALARY: $92,456 per year.
