REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic, Business or Environmental Studies and 2 years of experience as Associate.
JOB DUTIES: Building and using complex financial models, completing valuation and analytical exercises. Such models include discounted cash flow financial models that demonstrate the monthly spend of a project at different stages of its project lifetime (development, construction, and operational). The model shows key financing and performance indicators that can help the firm to make investment decisions. Developing internal analysis that highlight information that is helpful in making final investment decision on a renewable energy project. The analysis includes comparing supplier quotes for equipment procurement, conducting cost/benefit analysis of delaying construction timeline, and comparing project economics by changing key variables. Once the analysis is completed, a presentation is prepared for key stakeholders. Preparation of investment committee materials, such as Limited Partner Advisory Committee materials, which are used to ask for new or additional mandate on development activities. Working with and managing external advisers including legal, financial and technical to execute investments. This includes comparing pricing and scope of work of the different consultants, executing a term sheet, reviewing the consultants report/analysis, and using the report to propose several solutions to senior management for making key investment decisions. Management of due diligence workstreams for potential investment opportunities. Due diligence workstreams for a renewable energy project include: energy yield; federal / state / county technical and environmental permitting; grid interconnection risks; insurance; tax; legal; and counsel for engaging with indigenous/native communities. Research in relation to counterparties (developers, equipment suppliers, balance-of-plant operators, offtakers), markets and assets. This includes reviewing financial statements and calculating key metrics to determine the financial health of a company; evaluating any potential risks in environmental or social issues; analyzing the key drivers of supply and demand in the power market; and analyzing costs of various projects.
SALARY: $82,285 per year.
