TITLE: Academic Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Language Education, English as Second Language (ESL) or related field and minimum 3 years of supervision experience in language education, preferably in English as Second Language school context.
JOB DUTIES: Provide academic supervision and guidance to teaching staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality language instruction and adherence to the school’s curriculum and teaching standards. Lead teacher training and professional development sessions to promote best practices in language teaching and learning. Convene and chair meetings with teachers, both individually and in groups. Conduct performance evaluations of the pedagogical team. Develop and implement assessment and evaluation processes to monitor student progress and ensure effective learning outcomes. Collaborate with other members of the academic team to design, create and implement language programs, syllabus, student learning outcomes (SLOs), events, workshops and other extracurricular activities such as cultural excursions and language clubs. Ensure that these initiatives enhance students’ language learning experience and foster cross-cultural understanding. Develop new courses and academic materials, and create related activities in compliance with the rules and regulations established by the CEA/SEVP. Collaborate in the process of recruiting, selecting, and hiring new teachers. Ensure that they possess the necessary qualifications and experience to fulfill the requirements of the position. When required, carry out the process of firing teachers who do not meet the standards of the school. Manage and oversee the academic resources of the school, such as textbooks, teaching materials, and educational technology. Provide advice and guidance whenever necessary to assist with the selection of new materials that align with the school’s curriculum and academic goals. Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to language education by maintaining precise and current records of academic programs, courses, and student advancement. Serve as a liaison between the academic team and other departments of the school to promote effective communication and collaboration. Produce necessary documentation and presentations, and report to the school supervisor or general manager whenever required.
