TITLE: VFX Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Graphics, Multi-Media Technology or Animation, plus 5 years of experience of post degree, progressive responsible experience in any related position(s).
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for the production of visual effects on the show that is assigned. Communicate and delegate the VFX needs of the show to the team to ensure quality of work. Communicate the Director’s feedback and delegate appropriate tasks to artists. Develop workflow and pipeline strategies in order to ensure proper workflow methodologies for artists. Manage both hands-on operation of a workstation as well as the administrative duties, which includes mentoring artists, monitoring shot progress, monitoring show resource usage, capacity planning, and gauging deliverables with Production and Management. Display a thorough understanding of the VFX production process combined with relevant artistic skills. Deliver photo-real work with quick turnaround. Manage multiple shots at once in order to meet show deadlines. Collaborate with the VFX Producer on tasks such as budgeting, planning and client relations. Flag overages and conceptual changes that would affect the VFX Bid. Attend in-person launches and reviews, scouts, and meetings both locally and within the county. Be on-set as needed to act as a liaison between the clients, producers, and/or directors. Conduct written and verbal artists evaluations. Supervise the work of 3-15 artists depending on the movie/show or commercial project.
TRAVEL DETAILS: 20 percent travel time locally within the county of employment to attend meetings.
