TITLE: Field Service Engineer
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10 years of experience as a Service Engineer.
TRAINING: Requires Medical equipment training (software, installation, maintenance).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: IT Essentials certificate; medical equipment basics certificate; English courses certificate (if applicable). Bi-lingual English and Russian.
JOB DUTIES: Use established formulas and algebraic expressions to calculate the load needs for wire or equipment. Oversee or counsel staff in lower-level positions. To keep knowledge up-to-date, read technical manuals or go trough training sessions offered by equipment manufacturers. Determine the necessary power and space requirements for the installation of medical, dental, or related equipment, and then install the units in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Examine and test faulty medical equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards by using test and inspection tools. Using a soldering iron, solder any loose connections. Teach the medical office the staff how to operate or maintain medical equipment properly. Carry out preventive maintenance or servicing, including equipment cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. Test or calibrate parts or equipment using hand tools, power tools, or measurement tools according to manufacturer’s manuals and troubleshooting practices. Examine the equipment and confirm that it is in conformity with safety rules and that equipment is being used properly to safeguard patients and employees from electrical or mechanical threats. Test, assess, and categorize surplus or in-use medical equipment to determine its suitability for usage, its condition, and its eventual disposition. Locate repair parts by searching catalogs or repair parts lists, ordering the items, and documenting their receipt. Maintain all equipment: upkeep, repairs, and necessary updates. Based on specifications, user demands, or technical requirements, evaluate technical specifications to determine which equipment or systems are best suited for intended use and potential purchase. Disassemble broken equipment to dispose, fix, or replace faulty components such as: motors, clutches, or transformers. Use blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, or liquid to plan and complete work assignments while adhering to any necessary regulations or other directions.
