TITLE: Junior Industrial Designer
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Industrial Design or Bachelor of Product Design or Bachelor of Design Product Design and 6 months experience as industrial designer or product designer.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
JOB DUTIES: The Junior Designer will be involved in 4 areas of design in parallel: Design Research, Design Ideation, CAD Development and Prototyping. Design Research: reasoning and methods for user inclusive design research. Ideation: create and communicate ideas effectively. CAD Development: use and develop their 3D CAD skills. Prototyping: create high-end handmade prototypes. Duties include but are not limited to: Develop the concepts for manufactured products. Combine art, business, and engineering to make products that people use. Consider the function, aesthetics, production costs, and usability of products when developing new product concepts. Designing for manufacture. Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, and/or blueprints, using drafting instruments and computer-aided design equipment. Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform with customer specifications and production limitations. Evaluate feasibility of design ideas. Other duties as assigned. Work from home remotely from within commuting distance of Upper Montclair, NJ and New York, NY.
SALARY: $52,920.00/year
